Chad Flag
The Flag Of Chad
Chad is a small African country that has only been an independent country since 1960. Chad shares a national flag with Romania. Both Chad and Romania’s flag is a tri-color flag with three vertical stripes. There is a blue stripe on the left, a yellow stripe in the middle, and a red stripe on the right. During the time when Romania was ruled by the Communists the Romanian flag had the Communist emblem in the center of the flag but since the fall of Communism Romania has eliminated the Communist symbol from the flag leaving the flag of Romania and Chad identical to each other. Romania insists that since Chad wasn’t an independent nation until 1960 that they should give up the tri-color flag and change the design of the flag of Chad to be different from the flag of Romania but so far the Chad government has declined to make any changes to the flag of Chad. The Romanian government insists that it filed the necessary paperwork to trademark the tri-color flag design with the proper United Nations authorities but the UN denies having received any paperwork from Romania to copyright or trademark the tri-color flag. Chad, meanwhile, has bigger problems than the design of the national flag of Chad. 80 % of the population of Chad are subsistence farmers who are constantly at risk of going hungry.
Images Of The Chad And Romanian Flag
Some Romanians insist that their flag has a darker blue than the Chad flag and that’s how people can tell the two flags apart. Want to see the difference? Look for images of the Chad flag and the Romanian flag on the Internet and look to see if one blue appears darker than the other. Since it can be hard to see the small variations in color on a computer monitor it might be hard to tell if the Romanians are right and the blue that is in the Romanian flag is slightly different than the blue in the Chad flag but it’s an interesting theory. Trying to teach the kids the flags of world? Be sure to mention to them that Romania’s flag has a slightly darker blue stripe than the Chad flag. When they are being tested on the flags of the world knowing that one country’s flag is a darker blue than the other might mean that they get a right answer instead of a wrong one on a test where they need to correctly identify several flags and what country the flags belong to.
