On a red background the design of a white circular flower is in the center of the flag. It sometimes is also referred to as the “Red flower flag” even thought the flower in the center of the flag is white. Saskatchewan’s provincial flower displays a beautiful prairie lily, the provinces flower, in the right half of the flag. A big amount of flags, national, state level or others have flowers in their designs, especially the fleurs-de-lis. Leaves, trees and other plants are also often incorporated in flag designs.
The flower flag was also a big object of display in the Hippie era and under the flower power movement. Flags with flowers of all kinds were flown from cars, buildings and other places to represent the movement’s affiliates.
The blue flag iris flower is actually the name of the flower of an iris plant. Its pedals have the shape of flags and pennants and this is how it got its name. It is also called Iris virginica with its Latin name.
A totally different way of displaying a flower flag is on a parade such as the Rose parade. Flags from Universities, states and even countries are mad up of thousands and thousands of flowers. All the colors selected to fill the flags interior are usually flowers of different colors and shapes.
Flower flags of this kind are also found in many cities or states capitals. There they are not on parade floats but rather planted into the soil. States and city flags and emblems are displayed proudly with flowers in full bloom.
Now flower flags just as a decorative flag can be a nice addition to any garden. Vibrant colors and flowers in full bloom in print on the flower flag can revive any dreary garden and also add a theme to the garden.
