US Military Flags
Besides the national flag and states flags there are also very important other flags used in the history and even in our modern times in the United States, such as US military flags. Military flags actually have been one of the earliest forms of flags in use in the world. In the United States there are several branches of United States armed forces and each of the branches has their own flags and uses. Each branch uses various designs of flags for several different occasions as well to identify special parts and vehicles of the branch such as ships, camps, bases and military academies.
The different branches of the armed forces are Marines, Navy, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard. Sometimes the US military flag of the different branches are flown together. In that case the US Military flag regulations give the order of the branches certain precedence. (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast guard).
Flags of the United States military are also often used in merchandise, such as t-shirts, cups and similar. There are even us military flag label pins and mini versions of US military flags.
Flags of the US Military can also be bought for personal displaying purposes. Many of the flag stores across the United States sell US military flags and merchandise. Several retailers online also offer a great variety. In times of war, military flags are in greater demand in honor of the fighting and also fallen soldiers. The main flag of the United States Army displays a blue seal of the War office on a white background. Below the seal is a red banner showing the words “United States Army” and right below the banner in blue is the date 1775, the year in which the army was established by George Washington. The flag of the United States Air Force displays the Coat of Arms, 13 white five-pointed stars and the Air Force Seal on a dark blue background. The flag of the United States Marine Corps has a red field and displays in its center the Marine Corps emblem in the colors gray and gold. Below the emblem is a white banner with the words “United States Marine Corps”. The flag of the United States Navy has a dark blue background and displays in its center the seal of the department of the Navy. Right below the seal is a yellow banner with the blue lettered words “United States Navy”. The flag of the United States Coast Guard has a white field and in its center the Great Seal of the United States is displayed in blue color. Above the seal are the words “United States Coast Guard” and below the seal are the words “Semper Paratus” and the year 1970. “Semper Paratus” means “Always ready” and the date are the foundation days of the Coast guard.
